Description: Our speakers are Jeff Libby and Chris Michel. Jeff Libby, Senior Analyst at Group W, developed DoD Defense Planning Scenarios (DPS) and executed numerous wargames using the JWAM operational wargame ruleset while on active duty with the US Army. He currently provides solutions for the DoD utilizing integrated modeling, simulation, and wargame methodologies. Chris Michel, Senior Analyst at Group W and a former Marine, has developed and used several logistics models that have been integrated with the MCWAM-O wargame method to analyze selected supply, tactical mobility, and fuel assessments for the USMC.
Incorporating logistics within wargaming and wargaming logistics is a continuing topic within the wargaming community. How to integrate the accuracy and speed of modeling and simulation with the decision-making focus of wargaming is also a concern. Although it is challenging, modeling and simulation can be integrated with wargaming on a real time basis to examine challenging and complex logistics problems.
