Shawn Charchan has been focused on the energy needs of the military for more than a decade, working closely with Department of Defense (DOD) leadership to better understand the connection between the energy consumed during operations and the operational effects the force must realize in order to dominate during high-end conflict. After receiving his undergraduate degree in Quantitative Economics from the U.S. Naval Academy, Mr. Charchan was commissioned into the Marine Corps, serving initially as a Ground Supply Officer and later as a Ground Logistics Officer. Mr. Charchan graduated from the Naval Postgraduate School with an MS in Operations Analysis, then went on to use his skills to design, execute, and report on operational tests for U.S. Marine Corps ground combat systems. Since his time in the Marine Corps, Mr. Charchan has been leading qualitative and quantitative research for the national security community as an operations research analyst with Group W.
