Speaker: Mary McDonald - Designing and Analyzing Experiments for Campaign Models
Abstract: Building, testing, running, and analyzing a campaign model can be a complex, time-consuming process. A campaign model requires numerous inputs, many of which are uncertain, for both system parameters and operational concepts.  Additionally, analysts are often interested in numerous, time-varying campaign-level metrics that serve as indicators of success, as well as system- and mission-level measures that affect them.  The objectives of our research are to: (1) apply design of experiment (DOE) methods, in a manner that best complements traditional baseline and excursion modeling, in order to enable discovery of highly influential variables and their threshold values in as efficient and effective manner as possible, and (2) explore analytic techniques that can bring insights from the multi-dimensional output data to the analyst more quickly. The overall goal is to potentially increase the responsiveness and value of campaign analysis.
