The MORS Communities of Practice (CoP) help continue discussions from the annual Symposium and workshops. CoPs meet monthly for virtual and/or in-person sessions to discuss outstanding issues, share best practices, and works in progress. CoP sessions often feature guest speakers addressing critical issues or important training, tips, and techniques relevant to the community’s focus. The MORS Communities of Practice are an excellent way to enhance your professional development and get involved in MORS with a limited time commitment.

Step-by-step Instructions

  1. Go to www.mors.org and click on Sign In at the top of the screen.
(Please note that you must be on the www.mors.org site, not on the net.mors.org site, which is where the CoP member areas exist.)
  2. Enter your Username and Password, and then click on SIGN IN.
  3. Click on My Account (where Sign In was before), and then click on Manage My Account in the drop-down window.
  4. Under Account Actions on the right side of your screen, click on MORS Communities (8th bullet on the list).
  5. On the MORS Communities page, scroll down to Communities of Practice, and click on the check boxes to the left of the CoPs you wish to join.
(Note: You can alternatively leave a CoP by unchecking its box—but why on earth would you do that!?)
  6. Once you are done selecting, be sure to click on Save at the bottom of the page.

There are no limits to the number of communities you can participate in. To consider supporting a CoP, contact Mr. Romain Falloux at romain.falloux@mors.org.

MORS communities are always looking for volunteers to present their work during meetings. If you have a project, problem or historical knowledge that pertains to any of our communities, you can submit an abstract to be reviewed by the community leads. Click here to submit your abstract.
